DBT Skills Group Therapy for Adults
The DBT group therapy program focuses on teaching individuals interpersonal skills, emotion regulation skills, mindfulness and distress tolerance skills to improve quality of life, have better relationships and make better choices.
Our Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Group Program will help you to build practical, evidence-based skills to better manage emotions, cope with stress, and navigate relationships more effectively. The program focuses on strengthening everyday coping tools so you can respond to challenges with greater balance, confidence, and self-awareness.
This structured group supports people to develop healthier ways of regulating emotions, tolerating distress, improving interpersonal effectiveness, and staying present in the moment. The goal is to expand your personal “toolbox” of strategies so that distress can be managed in more adaptive and functional ways.
The program is suitable for adults aged 18 years and over who experience difficulties with emotional regulation, distress tolerance, relationship patterns, or sense of identity.
Participants are introduced to and practice skills across all four core DBT modules (two per term):
-
Mindfulness — building present-moment awareness and attention control
-
Distress Tolerance — managing crisis situations without making things worse
-
Emotion Regulation — understanding and regulating intense emotions
-
Interpersonal Effectiveness — improving communication, boundaries, and relationship skills
Sessions include psychoeducation, practical exercises, and between-session skill practice to support real-world application.
