Sydney Psych Hub provides psychological services to NDIS participants. Please note that we accept plan-managed and self-managed participants only. We are not currently registered to provide services to NDIA-managed (agency-managed) participants.
Eligibility
Psychology services under the NDIS are funded when they are directly related to a participant’s disability and support them in working towards the goals outlined in their NDIS plan. Services are not intended to address general mental health concerns unrelated to a participant’s disability.
Psychology is typically funded under the Capacity Building budget, most commonly within the Improved Daily Living support category. In some cases, funding may also be available under the Improved Relationships category.
If you are unsure whether a participant has psychology funding in their plan, we recommend they contact their Support Coordinator or Local Area Coordinator (LAC) to confirm.
How to Refer
A formal referral is not required for participants to access psychology services through the NDIS. However, a referral from a GP, paediatrician, support coordinator, or other health professional is always welcome and helps us to better understand the participant’s needs and goals.
When making a referral, please include the following information where possible:
- The participant’s name, date of birth, and contact details.
- The participant’s NDIS number and plan management type (plan-managed or self-managed).
- A brief summary of the participant’s presenting concerns and relevant history.
- The participant’s NDIS goals that psychology support will address.
- Any relevant diagnoses or supporting documentation.
Plan-Managed Participants
For plan-managed participants, Sydney Psych Hub will invoice the participant’s plan manager directly. We will ask for the plan manager’s contact details and may require a service agreement to be signed prior to commencing services. Sessions are billed in accordance with the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits.
Self-Managed Participants
For self-managed participants, payment is required at the time of each session. The participant can then submit the invoice to the NDIS for reimbursement through their myGov account.
